A powerful roaming street theatre experience where audiences are invited to make choices, reveal hidden surprises and discover what awaits inside the Mystic’s world of mirrors, a world of reflection, curiosity and mystery.
Performance description
Seated within a mesmerising landscape of mirrors, the Mystic quietly observes the crowd around her. She does not rush to engage. Instead, anticipation builds as spectators wait to discover who will be chosen next.
With a simple gesture, the Mystic beckons an audience member closer. Perhaps they will be invited to peer into one of her curious hand-held mirrors, their reflection transformed into something playful and unexpected. Or perhaps they will be presented with a choice.
Two ornate boxes are offered.
Which will you choose?
Within each lies a different possibility. Some reveal ancient scrolls containing thought-provoking observations, gentle wisdom or unexpected moments of humour. Others unlock surprising interactive effects that ripple through the Globe itself. Every encounter is different, shaped by the choices made and the people selected.
Children delight in the playful distortions of the mirrors and the spectacle of the special effects, while adults often find themselves unexpectedly drawn into the experience, becoming participants rather than observers.
At the press of the large button mounted on the exterior of the Globe, mirrors spin, lights dance across reflective surfaces, smoke drifts into the surrounding crowd and hidden surprises are brought to life. In one unforgettable moment, a chosen participant may even be responsible for shattering the great mirror behind the Mystic herself.
